Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We joyfully celebrate the birth of the Lord. As we do so, we are also very much aware the challenges that we face—moving beyond the pandemic, building social peace in our society, and finding economic stability in uncertain times. In all of this, we reaffirm our faith that Jesus truly is Emmanuel, God-with-us. He accompanies us and walks with us. And that gives us great confidence and sure hope.

This year, Pope Francis has called the entire Church to reflect on synodality, a word that means “being on the road together,” as we make our life journey. We believe that Jesus is on the road with us. And our faith also leads us to commit ourselves to be on the road with each other. In this season, we take inspiration from the Christmas gospel stories of Mary and Joseph journeying on the road together to Bethlehem and the Magi on the road together to find Jesus.

I pray that, accompanied by the Lord, we may learn to be sources of encouragement for each other on the journey.

During this holy season, I will bring you, your loved ones, and your special intentions to the altar. As I pray for you, I also ask you to pray for me, so that together all of us may find renewal in the Lord.

Estimadas Hermanas y Hermanos en Cristo,

Celebramos con alegría el nacimiento del Señor. Al hacerlo, también somos muy conscientes de los desafíos que enfrentamos: ir más allá de la pandemia, construir paz social en nuestra sociedad y encontrar estabilidad económica en tiempos de incertidumbre. En todo esto, reafirmamos nuestra fe en que Jesús es verdaderamente Emmanuel, Dios con nosotros. Él nos acompaña y camina con nosotros. Y eso nos da una gran confianza y una esperanza segura.

Este año, el papa Francisco ha llamado a toda la Iglesia a reflexionar sobre la sinodalidad, una palabra que significa “estar en el camino juntos”, mientras hacemos nuestro viaje de vida. Creemos que Jesús está en el camino con nosotros. Y nuestra fe también nos lleva a comprometernos a estar en el camino los unos con los otros. En esta temporada, nos inspiramos en las historias del evangelio de Navidad de María y José, que viajan juntos en el camino a Belén y de los Reyes Magos en el camino juntos para encontrar a Jesús.

Oro para que, acompañados por el Señor, aprendamos a ser fuentes de aliento los unos a los otros en el camino.

Durante esta temporada santa, los llevaré a ustedes, a sus seres queridos y sus intenciones especiales al altar. Mientras oro por ustedes, también les pido que oren por mí, para que juntos todos nosotros podamos encontrar renovación en el Señor.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The mystery of the Nativity of the Lord is one of the most important events in the history of humankind. God wanted to become man to show his closeness to all human beings. We do not have a God who isolates himself, who hides, who ignores his creation, but a God who has wanted to be as close as possible to what he created. In the manger of Bethlehem God has manifested himself to the human being through a fragile child, wrapped in swaddling clothes, born at a specific moment in history, accompanied by his parents, Mary and Joseph. The child Jesus represents the most beautiful traits that we can find in God: his love and mercy.

As we celebrate this feast as a community of faith, I want to invite you to offer your Christmas gift to the parish through the special envelope you have received. This donation is different to the Sunday collection. You can put your envelope on the collection or bring it to the parish office. Your generosity to the parish of St. Stanislaus is always appreciated and needed.

Thanks to all the parishioners who have attended Mass this year and to those who, even with health difficulties, have continued to be part of our parish from their homes. Thank you to all the ministers who have followed their service vocation in the parish. Without you this parish could not function because it is up to the community itself to provide the liturgical, spiritual and social services from which so many people benefit. Thank you all for making St. Stanislaus a living community.

Merry Christmas! May Christ be born and remain in your heart and family!

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo,

El misterio de la Natividad del Señor es uno de los acontecimientos más importantes en la historia de la humanidad. Dios ha querido hacerse hombre para mostrar su cercanía a todo el género humano. No tenemos un Dios que se aísla, que se esconde, que se desentiende de su creación, sino un Dios que ha querido estar lo más cerca posible de lo creado. En el pesebre de Belén Dios se ha manifestado al ser humano a través de un niño frágil, envuelto en pañales, nacido en un momento concreto de la historia, acompañado por sus padres María y José. El niño Jesús representa lo más hermoso que podemos encontrar en Dios: su amor y misericordia.

Al celebrar estas fiestas como comunidad, quiero invitarlos a que ofrezcan su regalo de Navidad a la parroquia a través del sobre especial para ello. Esta donación es separada a la colecta de los domingos. Puede poner el sobre en la colecta o llevarlo a la oficina parroquial. Su generosidad con la parroquia de San Estanislao es siempre apreciada y necesaria. Que Dios les conceda bendiciones incesantes cada vez que ofrezcan de sí mismos a los demás.

Gracias a todos los parroquianos que han asistido a la Misa en este año y a los que aún con dificultades de salud han seguido siendo parte de nuestra parroquia desde sus hogares. Gracias a todos los ministros que han seguido su vocación en el servicio en la parroquia. Sin ustedes esta parroquia no podría funcionar porque depende de la propia comunidad proveer los servicios litúrgicos, espirituales y sociales de los que tantas personas se benefician. Gracias a todos por hacer de San Estanislao una comunidad viva.

Feliz Navidad! Que Cristo nazca y permanezca siempre en sus corazones y hogares!

Queridos hermanos y hermanas,

Culminamos el novenario a Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Han sido unos días de gran devoción y entusiasmo por la fe y el amor a nuestra Madre del cielo. Agradezco a todos los parroquianos y peregrinos que noche tras noche honraron a la Virgen María con su presencia y oración. Mi agradecimiento va de manera especial a los ministros que colaboraron en las diversas liturgias que tuvieron lugar en nuestra parroquia. Gracias a los monaguillos, lectores, ministros de la eucaristía, ujieres, Jornadas, grupo de oración, catequistas, educación religiosa, grupo del rosario, los coros y decoradores. Gracias también a quienes se unieron para vender champurrado, pan y otras comidas cada noche en beneficio de la parroquia. También terminamos la rifa guadalupana el 12 de diciembre. Gracias nuevamente a quienes vendieron los tickets, a quienes los compraron y a los ganadores. Todos juntos colaboramos para que las celebraciones parroquiales sean hermosas y nos acerquen a Dios y a nuestros hermanos y hermanas.

Invito a los miembros de los distintos grupos de liderazgo y ministerios en la parroquia para que nos juntemos el miércoles 15 de diciembre en el gym de la escuela. Este será un espacio para compartir algo de comida y para convivir en el marco de las celebraciones de la Navidad. A todos gracias por su ministerio y liderazgo en la parroquia.

Finalmente, quiero invitar a todos los parroquianos para que juntos celebremos las fiestas de Navidad y Año Nuevo. Ya pueden ver el horario de misas en la página 3 de este boletín y estará en la página principal del boletín de la siguiente semana. Inviten a sus familiares y amigos para que celebren la Eucaristía aquí en San Estanislao. También tendremos confesiones el martes 21 de diciembre de 5 a 7 pm. Habrá tres sacerdotes para que todos se preparen adecuadamente a recibir a nuestro Salvador.

Dear brothers and sisters,

We are coming to the end of the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe. We have had a few days of great devotion and enthusiasm in faith and love for our Mother in heaven. I thank all the parishioners and pilgrims who, night after night, honored the Virgin Mary with their presence and prayer. My gratitude goes in a special way to the ministers who helped in the various liturgies that took place in our parish. Thanks to the altar servers, lectors, ministers of the Eucharist, ushers, Jornadas, prayer group, catechists, religious education, rosary group, choirs and decorators. Thanks also to those who came together to sell hot chocolate, bread and other foods each night for the benefit of the parish. We also finished the Guadalupe raffle on December 12th. Thanks again to those who sold the tickets, to those who bought them and to the winners. All together we collaborate so that parish celebrations are beautiful and bring us closer to God and our brothers and sisters.

I invite all the members of the different leadership groups and ministries in the parish to come together on Wednesday, December 15th to the school gym. This will be a space to share some food and to enjoy each other during these wonderful days of the Christmas celebrations. Thank you all for your ministry and leadership in the parish.

Finally, I want to invite all the parishioners to celebrate Christmas and New Years as one community of faith. You can already see the Mass schedule on page 3 of this bulletin and it will be on the main page of next week's bulletin. Invite your family and friends to celebrate the Eucharist here at St. Stanislaus. We will also have confessions on Tuesday, December 21 from 5 to 7 pm. There will be three priests for everyone to properly prepare to receive our Savior.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We begin in our parish the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Empress of the Americas. She is our mother, the queen of our lives, the woman who said yes to God, the bearer of the one who brings salvation to the whole world. Mary has become an example to follow, an inspiration for the Christian life, and a testimony for the missionary disciples that we must all become. Mary is consolation in affliction, she is hope in tribulation, joy in sadness, certainty in uncertainty, she is our mother and our lady. We direct our prayers to her because she is close to her son to intercede for us.

Pope Francis affirmed, looking at the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, that “she wanted to be a mestiza (mixed race) for us, she chose to appear as a mestiza. And not only to Juan Dieguito but also to the people. She chose to appear as a mestiza in order to be the Mother of all. She made herself mixed for all of humanity. Why? Because she made a mestizo of God. And this is the great mystery: Mother Mary made a mestizo of God, true God and true man, in her Son.” It is Mary then who helps God to draw closer to his people, God who becomes man, God who wanted to make his home among us, God who makes himself present in the midst of humanity in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. Mary always leads us to her Son. That is why we celebrate together our mother from heaven in the novena of Our Lady of Guadalupe from December 3 to 12, let us also contemplate her as the Immaculate Conception this December 8 and enjoy her grace and intercession as the Mother of our Savior who comes to us all the days of our life and especially in the Nativity of the Lord in this month of December.

I want to welcome all the parishioners and pilgrims who will join us in the novena. Welcome to St. Stanislaus Parish. We pray for you, your families, and the intentions that you carry in your heart. May the Lord continue to bless you and may our Blessed Mother intercede for you with her Son. May she lift up those prayers that spring from within your heart to the Lord, our Savior. And may this season of Advent help us all to prepare for the daily encounter with Christ, our life.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo,

Comenzamos en nuestra parroquia el novenario a Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, la emperatriz del continente americano. Ella es nuestra madre, la reina de nuestras vidas, la mujer del sí a Dios, la portadora de aquél que trae la salvación al mundo entero. María se ha convertido en ejemplo a seguir, en inspiración para la vida cristiana, y en testimonio para los misioneros discípulos que todos debemos llegar a ser. María es consuelo en la aflicción, es esperanza en la tribulación, alegría en la tristeza, certeza en la incertidumbre, ella es madre y señora nuestra. A ella dirigimos nuestras oraciones porque está cerca de su hijo para interceder por nosotros.

El Papa Francisco afirmó, mirando la imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe, que ella “se nos quiso mestiza, se mestizó. Pero no sólo con Juan Dieguito, con el pueblo. Se mestizó para ser Madre de todos, se mestizó con la humanidad. ¿Por qué? Porque ella mestizó a Dios. Y ese es el gran misterio: María Madre mestiza a Dios, verdadero Dios y verdadero hombre, en su Hijo”. Es María entonces quien ayuda a que Dios se acerque a su pueblo, Dios que se hace hombre, Dios que quiso poner su morada entre nosotros, Dios que se hace presente en medio de la humanidad en la persona de Jesús de Nazaret. María siempre nos lleva a su Hijo. Por eso celebremos juntos a nuestra madre del cielo en el novenario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del 3 al 12 de diciembre, contemplémosla también como la Inmaculada Concepción este 8 de diciembre y gocemos de su gracia e intercesión como la Madre de nuestro Salvador que viene a nosotros todos los días de nuestra vida y especialmente en la Natividad del Señor en este mes de diciembre.

Quiero dar la bienvenida a todos los parroquianos y peregrinos que nos acompañarán en el novenario. Bienvenidos a la parroquia San Estanislao. Oramos por ustedes, sus familias, y las intenciones que traigan en su corazón. Que el Señor los siga bendiciendo y nuestra Madre Santísima interceda por ustedes ante su Hijo. Que ella eleve esas oraciones que brotan de su interior al Señor, salvador nuestro. Y que este tiempo de Adviento nos ayude a todos a prepararnos para el encuentro diario con Cristo, vida nuestra.
