BAPTISM OF CHILDREN
UNDER AGE 7: Baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 12:00 p.m.
Registrations take place on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the rectory. The family must be registered as parishioners. At least one godparent must be a practicing Catholic, age 16 or older, who has celebrated Confirmation. If the godparents are not from St. Stanislaus parish, a letter is required from the pastor of their parish, confirming their status as practicing Catholics.
Unless both parents have participated in a baptismal preparation session within the last three years, they are required to attend such a session prior to the baptism. These take place the second Saturday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the church.
ADULT BAPTISM, CONFIRMATION, FIRST COMMUNION
• If you have never been baptized and are interested in learning about the Catholic faith;
• If you have been baptized in the Catholic Church or another Christian church, but have little or no religious affiliation since your baptism;
• If you have been baptized Catholic but have not celebrated Confirmation or received First Communion; or
• If you have been practicing in another faith tradition and wish to know more about the Catholic faith, the parish has a program to help.
Sessions are held regularly with parish leaders and others who are journeying together. The program, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), begins in the fall and involves learning, faith-sharing, and spiritual reflection, in a relaxed, informal setting. No commitment is necessary to begin participation in the learning sessions.
CONFESSIONS/ RECONCILIATION
Individual confessions are available every Saturday between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. or by arrangement with the priest, including weekdays after Mass. Communal Reconciliation Services with individual confessions are scheduled each year, one in Advent, and one in Lent.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK/ LAST RITES
If you are scheduled for surgery or are suffering from serious illness and want to celebrate the sacrament of anointing of the sick, please call the rectory to arrange the time when Father can visit.
Also, a communal anointing service during Sunday Mass is scheduled in the parish once each year.
MARRIAGE
Wedding arrangements should be made at least six months in advance of the wedding date.
Registrations take place at the rectory on Wednesdays, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by personal arrangement with Father Pius Kokose.
At least one person must be a registered parishioner. Baptized parties need a current copy of their Baptism and Confirmation certificates. Participation in approved marriage preparation sessions is required.
It is wise to make arrangements with the parish prior to reserving the hall for the celebration, to assure availability of the priest or deacon and church.
